Week 12 – my thoughts …

After being absent this week, I now can see an interesting shift in our collaboration in this course. The posts in the forum have significantly diminished, were the quality comments/ note-keeping have shifted on our blogs (Due to my absence, mine will be somewhat sketchy. I hope this week will not reflect badly on my TMA).
I think that after gaining some more experience with blogging, we’ll start to prefer this new way of ‘studying’. After reading Pat’s post about usage of wikis, I can assume that further tools will used later on in the course in order to collaborate in different ways.

    Great to have you back! You’re quite right, there’s been very little forum activity but whilst I have become a bit of a convert to blogging, I still like the fact that the forums allow for everything to be in one place so I hope we don’t dispense with them altogether.

Currently my professional role is that of Education Officer (Quality Assurance) within the Directorate for Quality & Standards in Education in the Ministry of Education, Malta. After eight years teaching Computing and ICT within a state secondary school, I moved to the Department of eLearning where my role focused on the organisation of national educational events of which the national eLearning awards and conference, Malta Robotics Olympiad and student competitions. In addition to the work within the Department of eLearning, as from 2011 I have taken the role of ICT coordinator within the Directorate for Lifelong Learning where for 5 years, I was involved in the development and organisation of ICT related courses within the directorate’s adult education centres and collaborating entities. In 2012, I completed my Masters studies in Online and Distance Education from the Open University. This blog started off as an online reflective diary for my studies in the Masters in Online and Distance Education with the Open Univeristy.
