Does funding for disabled students exist in Malta? What level of assistance is available? I am not aware about any vehicle allocating funding for disabled students who would like to further their study once they finish their obligatory schooling. Assistance in the purchase of tech may be pursued mainly through KNPD and FITA, but the level of help which is available is way below that available in compulsory education.
On its website, the Maltese national commission for higher education advocates that apart from the usual student maintenance grants, ‘students with particular hardships or who face certain circumstances may apply for additional support’. This phrase gives an indication that disabled students might have access to funding. Still this is not clear…
