Activity 16.1: Investigating research proposals

Skimming through various guidelines, the structure of research proposals all have similar layouts where variations typically are found across disciplines. In educational research the following is an initial attempt of highlighting main sections such proposals contain;

Introduction – specifying main objectives of the research and the research questions which will be investigated.

Literature review – This section highlights how the area under investigation is reported in research literature. This will enable the reader to understand why this a research is necessary.

Methodology – Explanation of what research methodology will be used to investigate the research questions.

Limitations – What limitations, constraints are forecasted for this research

Conclusion

Time frame – Allocation of work stages in the time frame earmarked for the research.
